Travis & Pixi Johnson have enjoyed being involved in ministry together since they volunteered as youth leaders in the early 1990s.
After a 3 year stint in Bible College in Adelaide, Trav & Pix moved to Perth in 1997 and Trav took up the role of Youth Pastor at Woodvale Baptist Church. They enjoyed 5 fruitful years of ministry in the West, before following God’s call to Hervey Bay, Qld, where Trav stepped into the role of Senior Pastor at the local Church of Christ. After 2 and a half years in this role, God opened up the opportunity for the family to move back to their home church of Edwardstown Baptist in Adelaide, and Trav enjoyed four years of serving as youth pastor there.
In 2008 Trav & Pix became fulltime missionaries with Youth Ministries Australia to head up the “IMMERSE project”, and later Trav served as National Ministry Leader from 2012-2013.
The transformation they witnessed in individuals and communities through the IMMERSE project inspired this couple to see more of this generation find themselves in God's great story. After much prayer, a series of God-inspired circumstances, and a gathering of a quality board and team, they have stepped out to launch AccessTheStory. It’s through the ministry of ATS, and likeminded people and networks, that they long to see the vision of:
“a generation LIVING OUT God’s story.”
Above all, in their pursuit of discovering what it means to be followers of Jesus, Trav & Pix are loving the opportunity to raise four young men into all God has created them to be.
